I'm finally pretty settled in my apartment. I unpacked everything last weekend, but was still shopping for various household odds and ends this week. I really like my apartment, I just wish it had a bit more storage space. Here's a link to some pictures of my apartment, so you can see what it looks like!

Last weekend I took a trip to Ikebukuro, in Tokyo. (There's one picture of that at the link, too.) It only takes me around a half an hour to get there, if I take an express train. Ikebukuro is an area that I used to go to frequently with my friends the last time I was here in Japan, so it was great to get to go back and visit some of my favorite places. I still remembered my way around the area, too.

During the week, I work at the high school Monday-Friday. Classes aren't in session right now, so I've been spending my time in the teachers room. My first few days at the school were spent getting organized and filling out paperwork. A few of the English teachers also generously helped me go out and get my bank account and cellphone. Now that those preparations are over, I don't always have a lot to do at work. I've started planning my first lessons though. I'm sure I'll get busier closer to the end of the month, when classes are supposed to start.
