Here's another post about some other interesting things I did last month.

I went to another concert by one of my favorite bands, exist+trace. This was the third exist+trace show that I've been to since arriving in Japan. This one was the coolest show yet because it was the first members only show for their new fan club, which I'm a member of. The show was at a really small venue and there were probably around only 100 people in the audience. I'm not sure how it happened, but I somehow ended up directly in front, at the center of the stage. I had a fantastic view of the show and the vocalist, Jyou, was so close that I could've reached out and touched her. The band also surprised us fan club members by coming out to meet all of us at the end of the show! The girls lined up in the back of the venue and fans were able to line up, individually greet each band member, and shake their hand. It was so awesome! I was able to have a short conversation with each of the girls and tell them how much I enjoyed the show. I told Omi, my favorite member of the band, that I think she's the coolest and she was very sweet. I used to think that Naoto, the bass player, looked kind of intimidating, but she was quite nice when I talked with her. Jyou made a surprised comment telling me that my hands were small when I shook her hand. I thought it was cute because Jyou's pretty small, too. Miko asked me if I lived in Japan and when I told her I did she said to please come to the next show. Last in line was the drummer, Mally. Mally had made cookies for all of us fan club members, so she gave me a cookie. It was a soy cookie and it was pretty good! Definitely a great night. The fact that exist+trace was so nice made me an even bigger fan of them.

Something else that I thought would be interesting to write about is the dinner that I ate in Shin-Okubo. Shin-Okubo is a section of Tokyo known for it's large Korean population. As a result a sort of Korean town has formed in the area. My friend Masami invited me and a couple of her other friends for dinner in Shin-Okubo. We ate at a Korean resturant called Tomato. We had chijimi, which is basically a type of veggie pancake, with melted cheese and a spicy sauce on top and another dish (which I've forgotten the name of) that was made with egg but had a consistency similar to tofu. The main part of the meal was grilled meat and kimchi, which was grilled at our table. All of it was quite yummy. After dinner we went to a cafe for dessert. We had patbingsu, a type of shaved ice with ice cream, sweet red beans, and fruit. It was also delicious.
